Fabrizio Romano claims Liverpool have come to terms on a permanent deal with star

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool have already agreed to a permanent contract with Arthur Melo. The Reds currently have him on loan.

Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano has notified Liverpool fans about Arthur Melo. The Brazilian is only on loan to the Reds through the end of the current campaign.

“Liverpool will have €37.5m buy option clause for Arthur in June, not mandatory – LFC have negotiated with Juve the possibility of paying the clause in two years,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Arthur has already agreed the potential, future contract in case LFC will trigger the clause

Juventus included these facts in their announcement of the deal on deadline day. Liverpool can pay that money over two years, should they decide to sign Arthur permanently.

If Romano is correct, Liverpool will be aware that they can have Arthur if they so choose. They spent time negotiating a contract, and it’s possible that he will stay with the team for a while.

According to early reports, Liverpool were unable to purchase the former Barcelona player. It now appears that they have a contract in place and only need to activate the clause.

At first, we genuinely believed Liverpool was using Arthur as a temporary fix. Just someone to hold them over till a significant change happens next summer. That was how it appeared at first.

But it’s obvious they do hold him in high regard. This is not a loan that was made on a spur of the moment, or they wouldn’t have bothered to go through these negotiations on deadline day.
