“Exactly what they’re Missing” – Watch Liverpool sent £29m Superstar transfer warning as FSG sets his asking price
In light of this summer’s transfer rumors linking the Brazilian superstar of Liverpool to Juventus, former Premier League player Ian Wright has emphasized the significance of this player.
According to the Highbury great, Firmino is “exactly what they are lacking” when he isn’t playing for Liverpool, as he told ITV Sport.
Firmino kicked off Liverpool’s 3-1 Community Shield victory over Manchester City over the weekend.
Unexpectedly, Roberto Firmino put on a fantastic performance at the King Power Stadium.
Despite Darwin Nunez’s arrival and his goal in his debut match, the 30-year-old is now expected to start the club’s Premier League debut at Fulham on Saturday.
However, Wright praised the Reds and their approach to the transfer market when discussing Liverpool’s recruitment over the years.
“You look at the recruitment at Liverpool in the last few years and what they are doing,” said Wright.
“They haven’t got much wrong.
“You are talking about a midfielder (possibly coming in), if that was the case, then Liverpool probably would have got that, so they haven’t got much wrong.
“They are chasing down a Manchester City side that they can’t afford to get it wrong.
“You look at someone like Firmino, he doesn’t score as many goals, but what he gives the team when he drops off with Salah and Mane, going beyond him, it was brilliant.
“Sometimes when he wasn’t playing, he was exactly what they were missing.”
