€110m star player tops Liverpool’s four-man list of summer targets
RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol is the top target out of the quartet that Liverpool are interested in signing this summer.
Any new addition will probably be young and capable of playing on both the left and right sides of the defence since Virgil van Dijk is the Reds’ current left center-back.
According to Football Transfers, Antonio Silva of Benfica, Sporting CP’s Goncalo Inacio, and Jarrad Branthwaite, now at PSV Eindhoven on loan from Everton, make up the rest of Liverpool’s shortlist.
Gvardiol tops the list, however, there is a concern for the Premier League club because the Croatian star has a buyout clause in his Leipzig contract of €110m and the German club will require clubs to fulfill that amount – with Real Madrid and Manchester City also interested in the defender.
The Reports added that Liverpool have Jude Bellingham and Matheus Nunes as their top targets this summer and with that set to cost a large sum of money, the signing of Gvardiol or any other center-back is off the cards for now.
Midfield department has been a big problem for the Reds and they are right to deal with that first, in the meantime though, another one of Europe’s biggest clubs will likely come along and test Leipzig’s resolve regarding Gvardiol.
