The La Liga team would be willing to pay €80 million for the England international, claims Futbol Total (via Liverpool Echo).

Barcelona wants a fullback from Liverpool; Trent Arnold Alexander (reported via Liverpool Echo).

The Blaugrana are reportedly interested in making the Reds star their marquee acquisition during the summer 2022 transfer window to round out the roster.

Liverpool were held 1-1 at home by Tottenham

If Barcelona is successful, Sergino Dest, the Spanish club’s current right-back, may be replaced (or even improved upon) by the 23-year-old. Manchester United and Atletico Madrid have expressed interest in Dest this summer.

The European powerhouses have been brutal in their pursuit of Chelsea targets Raphinha and Jules Kounde from Leeds United and Sevilla thus far in the summer window.

The Catalan team also acquired Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich for a cost of €45 million (with add-ons).

Arnold has so far enjoyed a fruitful career with the Merseyside-based team under boss Jurgen Klopp.

He has made 227 games and has 62 assists and 13 goals, which is a noteworthy total for a full-back.

During the 2018–19 season, the 23-year-old also had a significant impact on the English team’s stunning second-leg comeback victory over the Blaugrana.

That year, Klopp’s team won the UEFA Champions League championship.

However, the Reds full-back has previously stated his desire to play out the rest of his career with the Reds. He had previously stated (through Liverpool FC) in an interview with Sky Sports that:

“To play for Liverpool is the dream, the aim, and I can’t see it changing, to be fair.

“As long as possible I want to have that relationship with Liverpool, to be a Liverpool player.”
