Sadio Mané return to Liverpool claim uncertain as Bayern Munich takes final transfer decision

Sadio Mané return to Liverpool claim uncertain as Bayern Munich takes final transfer decision
Mané claim doesn’t add up for Liverpool as Bayern Munich makes transfer decision
The Senegalese forward dazzled on Merseyside for six seasons and won everything a player could dream of.
His transfer to German champions Bayern Munich took many Reds fans by surprise and still cuts deep one year on. $34m still seems cheap for a player of Mané’s quality.
Some viewed the transfer as the 31-year-old’s last opportunity to win trophies with a team that is practically guaranteed to win at least one trophy each season. It hasn’t exactly gone as planned, though.
The fact that he scored on his debut against Eintracht Frankfurt and added two more goals in a thrashing of VfL Bochum attested to his talent, but a long-term injury caused his form to wane. Immediately after, there were rumours of a dispute with teammate Leroy Sané.
Unsurprisingly, Mané was immediately mentioned in connection with a return to Liverpool, and those rumours never really subsided. Later, The Express reported that Bayern had put “three players up for sale,” suggesting that the former Red could be returning to Jürgen Klopp’s squad.
The article cites AS as stating Sadio Mané, Leroy Sané, and Serge Gnabry ‘will be permitted to leave the club before the start of next season, with Bayern eager to cut their bloated first-team squad over the next several months.’

Given his history with the club and the links to Liverpool, Mané would seem to be a natural fit for the Reds, but he still has two years left on his contract and might still fit into Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
There are those Liverpool fans who would want to see Mané return, but it wouldn’t be a good move for the Reds. A few footballers can say that, but Mané contributed to the club during a crucial time and left on a high note.
The transfer is unnecessary for Liverpool. Since then, Darwin Nez, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Dáz have all been recruited, in addition to long-time players like Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.
Liverpool should seek out younger talent who can mentor the next generation and learn from such players. There are several transfers Liverpool can make this summer, and bringing Sadio Mané back is not one of them.
