Liverpool are now interested in signing £50m Premier League captain

Manchester United and Liverpool are both allegedly interested in signing 22-year-old defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

The Daily Mail reports that the Reds are interested in signing the England international, who has made a name for himself as one of the most sought-after defenders in the Premier League market and is valued at up to £50 million by Palace.

Liverpool’s interest in Guehi, a center-back who has started for the south London team frequently this season, makes sense given how eager Jurgen Klopp is to bolster his defense with another defender during the summer transfer window.

With Guehi one of the most highly-rated talents in the Premier League and already part of Gareth Southgate’s England set-up, the former Chelsea academy product could be an ideal signing for Liverpool, with the defender a potential long-term partner for Ibrahima Konate.

Indeed, interest from other clubs is strong in Guehi, and whilst Liverpool could struggle to land the Palace titan, the prospect of playing at Anfield and for the Reds could be a tempting one for the 22-year-old, especially with European football also on offer
