Transfer news: Liverpool ready to rival Manchester United for in-form World Cup star in the January transfer window
Liverpool is prepared to team up with Manchester United in the pursuit of PSV attacker Cody Gakpo according to reports.
Gakpo is “gone,” according to journalist Hans Kraay, who told the Dutch edition of ESPN that Liverpool or Manchester United would be interested in signing the Dutch international because PSV had no chance of keeping him.

Gakpo has been outstanding in the Eredivisie this year and is also shining for the Dutch national team at the World Cup, so it makes logical that there might be a lot of interest in him right now.
Recently, United has been the primary party mentioned in connection with Gakpo, so it’s interesting to hear Kraay mention that Liverpool are also interested, with Jurgen Klopp being consulted by his Dutch mentor Pep.
