Liverpool transfer: Liverpool plot move for Sensational Arsenal target in January to bolster midfield
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal target and Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has become a potential choice for the Reds as they look to recruit a midfielder in January 2023, according to Estadio Deportivo (via the Daily Mail).

The article also stated that the Argentine is attracting interest from other European teams.
It’s important to note that throughout the summer, Rodriguez was also a target for Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Arsenal (as per TBR Football).
According to reports, The Gunners also made a proposal for the player to Real Betis.
Rodriguez, according to the Daily Mail’s claim, did not, however, get any “serious” proposals from Betis during the summer transfer season.
Since joining the Balompie from Club America in 2020, the 28-year-old has been an important player.
He has played 110 times across all competitions for the Spanish club in about two and a half years, tallying six goals and three assists.
Rodriguez was crucial to Betis’ Copa del Rey triumph last year. Additionally, he has 25 caps for Argentina and made three starts when they won the 2021 Copa America.
The defensive midfielder is expected to be named to La Albiceleste’s FIFA World Cup roster this year.
Guido Rodriguez may be on Liverpool and Arsenal’s radar to increase the depth of their rosters.
This season, Liverpool has dealt with a lot of injuries, particularly in the midfield.
Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara have both taken a break from play.
Liverpool acquired Juventus’s Arthur Melo on loan in order to strengthen their midfield. The Brazilian, though, has also sustained an injury and might not return until after the World Cup.
With Jurgen Klopp’s team currently ranked 10th in the Premier League, the effects of all these fitness difficulties are clearly seen on the field. Only two of their first eight league games have they won.
With eight victories from nine games, Arsenal has had a fantastic start to the season and currently leads the Premier League rankings.
Emile Smith Rowe and Mohamed Elneny, though, appear destined for protracted absences.
Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are now heavily reliant on Arsenal as a result of Elneny’s absence, at least until the World Cup kicks off.
Since joining Mikel Arteta’s team, Partey has had a poor track record of injuries, and the team lacks a suitable alternative.
Because of this, they might decide to look for another defensive midfielder in January, and Guido Rodriguez might become a viable alternative.
