Watch Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane makes fresh Mohamed Salah rivalry claim after beating him to the prestigious CAF mens Player of the year award
Throughout their five seasons as colleagues at Liverpool, when they won the Champions League and the Premier League, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah occasionally had disagreements.
Again, Sadio Mane has refuted claims that he and Mohamed Salah, a former teammate of his at Liverpool, are feuding on a personal level.
Prior to Mane’s £35 million summer departure to Bayern Munich, the two incredibly productive attackers spent five years as the focal point of Jurgen Klopp’s assault.

In 2019, an incident at Burnley epitomized this: it was understandable that the pair wanted to outdo one another, and occasionally they were unable to keep their annoyances hidden.
Salah and Mane, though, have often stated that there is no animosity between them and that, in fact, they encouraged each other to achieve greatness.
Salah, the 30-year-old captain of Egypt, referred to his leaving teammate as a “brother” in a poignant message he gave to him in June.
In a recent update, Senegal’s star player Mane revealed how he emails a former teammate and said there isn’t a footballer he doesn’t get along with.
The 30-year-old was speaking after he defeated Salah and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to be named the African Player of the Year for 2022.
This came after another outstanding campaign for Liverpool and a successful Africa Cup of Nations campaign for his nation, which included a victory over Egypt in the championship match.
“People sometimes say there’s a rivalry between me and [Salah], but you know I don’t see myself having a rivalry with any player to be honest,” Mane told GOAL ahead of the ceremony in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday.
“We have good relations, we text each other. I think the media always try to [aggravate] things.”
He added: “You know I don’t just have [relationships] with one player, but with every player I’ve played with in the world. You can ask whoever you want in the club, or wherever I go. I have good relationships with all players.”
