According to David Maddock of The Mirror, Liverpool have signed a £6.5 million deal to buy Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay this summer.

After Fabio Carvalho and the marquee addition of forward Darwin Nunez, the 18-year-old Scottish full-back will be the Reds’ third summer signing.

During the 2021-22 season, Calvin Ramsay enjoyed a breakout season with Aberdeen. In total, the 18-year-old right-back made 33 appearances for the Scottish side, scoring one goal and assisting nine times in all competitions.

Ramsay might be utilized as a back-up to Trent Alexander-Arnold for the 2022-23 season, thanks to Liverpool’s interest in him.

Last season, the Reds played 63 games and will be hoping to contend on all four fronts this season.

Because Alexander-Arnold is unlikely to play in every game in the future, Jurgen Klopp requires a back-up for the England international.

Joe Gomez, who can play as a right-back for Liverpool, is worth highlighting.

The Englishman, on the other hand, is essentially a centre-back.Calvin Ramsay’s likely arrival might spell the end of Neco Williams’ stay at Anfield.

Last season, the Welsh full-back spent half of the season on loan at Fulham, where he contributed to their promotion drive.
