Mohamed Salah makes new Liverpool contract claim: ‘not asking for crazy’
Mohamed Salah makes a new Liverpool contract claim: ‘not asking for crazy’.
Liverpool’s sensational forward Mohamed Salah has scored 23 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool this season.
The 29-year-old has been a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s side since he joined the Reds from Serie A side AS Roma in the summer of 2017.
Although he has managed to take his performance up another level, his contract situation is yet to be decided.
The Egyptian deal at Anfield runs out in the summer of 2023, has publicly stated on multiple occasions that he wants to stay at Liverpool.
But he is yet to reach new terms with the Premier League club.
Speaking to GQ, Salah says that he wants to stay at Liverpool, but has accepted that it is “not in my hands”, rather those of the administration.
Importantly, Mo Salah added “They know what I want. I’m not asking for crazy stuff.
“The thing is when you ask for something and they show you they can give you something, [they should]. Because they appreciate what you did for the club.”
“I’ve been here for my fifth year now. I know the club very well. I love the fans. The fans love me. But with the administration, they have [been] told the situation. It’s in their hands.”
Perhaps the early £400k-a-week claims are wide of the mark, or perhaps the £300k ones are as on-target as Salah’s finishes are.
Salah is currently on international duty with the Egyptian national team at the 2021 African Cup of Nations being held in Cameroon.
