Owen Hargreaves hails Jadon Sancho following display in Man United 2-0 win against Villarreal.
Former Man United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has praised winger Jadon Sancho following the Red Devils 2-0 away victory against Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Manchester United caretaker Manager, Michael Carrick, trusted the England International by selecting him in his starting lineup in the crucial away game against Villarreal.
The host didn’t give United attackers much space, but when they did, Sancho was frequently involved.
Owen Hargreaves, a pundit in the BT Sport studio praised the former Borussia Dortmund winger.
“Jadon looks good, Jadon looks sharp like something can happen any time he gets it. said Hargreaves.
“Jadon was the best player on the pitch, the player we saw at Dortmund at times, who can win a game.”
In the 70th minute, Sancho came close to finding the back of the net, playing a one-two with Bruno Fernandes before seeing his shot saved by Geronimo Rulli’s outstretched foot.
With less than a minute to the full time, the 21-year-old lashed in a fierce strike off the underside of the crossbar after a slick team move to make it 2-0.
Sancho looked bright and confident on the night and maybe for the first time showed his real personality in the United shirt.
His work rate was impressive, especially off the ball as he helped press Villarreal and got back to assist Aaron Wan-Bissaka with defensive duties.
It was great to see Sancho Perform well in the colors of United after struggling for form since his big-money move to Old Trafford.
