Jurgen Klopp sends warning message to Mikel Arteta ahead of Liverpool vs Arsenal clash.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sent a warning to Arsenal ahead of their game this weekend as he proclaimed that “we are at Anfield”.
The reds have dropped points in their last two games, played a 2-2 draw against Brighton, and suffered a 3-2 loss to West Ham at the London Stadium before the international break.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are enjoying a good run of form and are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League matches.
Arsenal sits fifth on the Premier League table, 2 points below Liverpool, and have an opportunity to move above Jurgen Klopp’s side with a victory on Saturday.
According to BBC Sport, Klopp admitted that Liverpool “have to fight” to stay around the top of the table.
“To stay up there we know we have stay in around the top of the league through results and we didn’t have enough good results in the last few weeks,” Klopp said. “That’s why the situation is the way it is.
“Yes we lost to West Ham but even if we would’ve drawn there, the situation would not be massively different. That’s it.
“We know we have to perform and we know we have to fight and that’s pretty much the most important information.
“Arsenal is a really good football team but we are at Anfield and we have to show that.”
Klopp revealed that he is faced with “late decision” regarding the fitness of Andy Robertson. But Sadio Mane is fit to start the game, while Fabinho is recovering.
“Andy Robertson didn’t train with the team yet,” Klopp added.
“The recovery stuff, the rehab stuff and… yeah, didn’t train with the team yet.
“It’s pretty close – but it will be a late, late, late, late decision on that.
“Sadio [Mane] is good. Fabinho came back. He is in recovery, so I can hope he can train today. That’s the plan; I didn’t yet hear anything different but in the. end, we will have to wait until tomorrow.”
