Transfer news; Chelsea set to offer Antonio Rudiger a new bumper deal to ward off interest from Real Madrid.
The blues sensational defender Antonio Rudiger is reportedly set to be offered a contract worth around €14 million by Chelsea to ward off interest from the La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The Blues are doing everything possible to keep hold of Antonio Rudiger beyond the next transfer window.
Chelsea are willing to offer the German international a contract with a net worth around €14 million to keep the German defender According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional.
Antonio Rudiger joined Chelsea from AS Roma in July 2017 and the 28-year-old is currently in the best form of his career, having been reenergized under the management of Thomas Tuchel. He is currently regarded as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
Reports have claimed that Rudiger is in advanced talks with Real Madrid ahead of a possible free transfer move in the next transfer window.
There have even been suggestions that the Chelsea defender would be open to joining Los Blancos, which has put Chelsea to worry.
The interest from Real Madrid does is understandable, considering Carlo Ancelotti is short of quality central defensive options.
Los Blancos chose not to sign as many replacements for Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane in the summer, with David Alaba the only defensive addition. Surprisingly Eder Militao has been linked with Chelsea as a possible replacement for Rudiger.
With Alaba being the only reliable center-back, reinforcing the heart of the defence is imperative for Real Madrid.
As a result, Madrid have identified Rudiger as a top target next summer. However, Chelsea are set to table a bumper deal to convince him to stay at Stamford Bridge.
According to the report, the Blues are ready to offer Rudiger a contract with a net worth of around €14 million per year to secure his long-term future.
Also, Chelsea will give him a loyalty bonus of €10 million. An offer such as this must be tempting for the 28-year-old and would be a major blow for Real Madrid.
it remains to be seen is if Rudiger will accept the forthcoming proposal by Chelsea to extend his stay with the Blues.
Also, it will be interesting to see who Real Madrid turn to, with Rudiger’s Chelsea teammate Andreas Christensen set to be among their targets.
