‘The best strikers in the world’ – Jurgen Klopp breaks silence on signing Tottenham Hotspur superstar

It is difficult to assume that Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has many regrets about his footballing career, but the German coach recently spoke up about one of his biggest regrets.

With his last two teams, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, Klopp has established a noteworthy career in management.

Over the past ten years, the 55-year-old has led both to amazing success, yet one of his biggest regrets is that neither team signed a certain player.

In a recent interview with South Korean television station KBS, Klopp said that one of his biggest mistakes in his career was not signing Tottenham’s Son Heung-min.

“One of the big mistakes in my life was not signing him [Son],” the German coach said via 90min.

“Outstanding, world-class, and one of the best strikers in the world.”

Son Heung-min has faced Klopp many times over the years and earned the nickname of ‘The Beekeeper’ because of his prolific record against the German coach’s Dortmund team.

At the age of 30, it is hard to see Klopp ever getting the chance to manage Son in the future but in football and in life, never say never.
