Liverpool transfer pursuit for Jude Bellingham could hit roadblock after Journalist reveals worrying development

According to a report, Graeme Bailey has revealed that Jude Bellingham’s camp is considering keeping him at Borussia Dortmund for an additional year.

The top teams in Europe are reportedly interested in signing the England International, with Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool being particular fans. A summer transfer in 2023 is being considered.

“He might stay at Dortmund for another year, don’t rule it out, we have the build-up to Euro 2024 that will be played in Germany, so that could be a factor,” the 90Min journalist told the Talking Transfers Podcast (via HITC).

“If we look at the talent who’ve left Dortmund, Dembele, Sancho and Haaland. Dembele and Sancho struggled to adapt and the player who stayed for an extra year, Haaland, adapted quickly.

“Bellingham’s camp, I’m told are looking at that as well, I’m not saying it’s likely, but I wouldn’t rule it out.”

Some people would likely want to see the midfielder spend another year in Germany and take a chance on the asking price dropping in 2024, especially with a fee that might rise depending on the kind of World Cup campaign the 19-year-old has for England.

It’s a gamble that most people will probably not be willing to accept, especially because there are a few clubs out there with the resources to pay for such a hefty price tag.

The possibility of the Reds sporting director giving the thumbs-up for a potential move is possible, provided that Bellingham’s wage demands aren’t high.

The youngster will have earned a potential pay rise as a potentially generational midfielder, however, it must fit within the Reds wage structure, should he choose a move to Anfield.

hopefully, the player will be willing to make a big move next summer, as well as that his demands align with what the club is willing to offer. If not, Liverpool will face a serious challenge in figuring out how to best strengthen their midfield next summer.
