“We will be disappointed if”- Liverpool star Trent Alexander- Arnold makes honest claim for the season

Liverpool wing-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed ahead of the trip to Inter Milan in the Champions League last 16 that the Reds ‘will be disappointed if they cannot win at least one trophy a season.

The 23-year-old believes the Reds have the quality in their team and manager in Jurgen Klopp to consistently win trophies.

Liverpool are also still in the running for Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup, and European titles this term to atone for last season’s drought.

Liverpool produced their first trophy less campaign in three seasons last term after failing to defend the 2019/20 Premier League crown. They also exited the Champions League in the quarter-final, while bowing out of both the FA and EFL Cups in the fourth round.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has previously enjoyed a good 19/20 season when Liverpool lap up titles in the English top-flight, Champion League, European Super Cup, and Club World Cup.

Alexander-Arnold is content with his haul of four titles in the last three-and-a-half seasons but believes one trophy a term must be the bare minimum for a club like Liverpool.

“It’s not that we are disappointed,” he said. “What we have won are the most important competitions. Just think that City has never won the Champions League, and we have” said Alexander-Arnold via quotes by TuttoMercatoWEB,

“Having said that, there are always incredible expectations at least we have to win a trophy a year.

“With the team, we have, with the club and with the coach, we have to win trophies. If we don’t win, we will be disappointed – we will not be satisfied with reaching the final.”

Liverpool will face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final for their first shot at silverware this season on February 27.
