Liverpool set to sign £16.8million player who earns £7.6million a year

According to reports the latest name to come to mind as Liverpool desperately needs to strengthen their midfield is PSG star Leandro Paredes.

The future of the Argentine international with Paris Saint-Germain has been up in the air for a while, and he might decide to leave the reigning French champions this summer.

After Naby Keita joined the injured players on the treatment table, Liverpool reportedly wants to sign the South American midfielder to strengthen their midfield.

The 28-year-old is reportedly linked with a move to Serie A giant Juventus.

Paredes is capable of performing well in both the central and defensive midfield positions. His current deal at the Parc des Princes expires in 2024, and according to Italian media (Tutto Sport), he is worth roughly 20 million euros (£16.8 million).

Leandro Paredes has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

He has featured 44 times for Argentina so far, and he was an important part of the group that won the Copa America last year.

Though he makes over £7.6 million a year (according to football transfers), the former Roma player has never been able to routinely start for PSG.

He only made 16 Ligue 1 starts in the 2020–21 season. He was injured in the previous term and was out for the majority of the season.

However, under the guidance of the new coach, Christophe Galtier, he has only managed four appearances this season across all leagues, appearing for a combined 61 minutes.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool will table an official bid for Leandro Paredes as he will only be a stop-gap signing for the Reds if they decide to bring him to Anfield.
