Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes the impact his new deal could have on Mo Salah’s decision to extend his stay at Anfield beyond next summer with his current contract quickly running out
Liverpool also confirmed on Thursday afternoon that Jurgen Klopp had agreed a two-year extension to his previous deal and is now set to remain with the club until 2026.
Talking in a press conference, the German said: “That’s more of a question for the boys, to be honest. But it’s all fine, I really think they are both great.
“They have more things to think about than the management, but it’s an important thing.”
Gerrard hails new Klopp deal
Steven Gerrard was excited at the news after he was impressed with the German’s work at Anfield since he replaced Brendan Rodgers in 2015.
He said in his pre-Norwich City press conference: “All the Liverpool fans all over the world are absolutely delighted with the news.
“Congratulations to Jurgen and his staff. It will be Liverpool’s most important signing for many years to come.
“That is how highly we all think of him. He certainly deserves it. The fans have been craving that signing for some time.
“He has built a world-class team. Liverpool are on the cusp of something really special.”
