Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea (6-5 pens): Liverpool FC Player Ratings
Alisson – 10 (out of 10) (man of the match)
He wasn’t without work, though, as he needed clean hands and quick feet — his close-range stop on Marcos Alonso demonstrating his brilliance in 1v1 circumstances, and he was penalized for it.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8
Jaw-dropping defense-splitting passes were paired with a superb goalmouth clearance and touch off the toe of Pulisic, whose recovery pace was crucial for Liverpool throughout.
Ibrahima Konate -8
Konate’s inclusion in the starting XI looked inevitable as he played every FA Cup match leading up to the final, and his pace and physicality made him a perfect fit.
Virgil van Dijk -7
Van Dijk was a composed figure at the back, maintaining the Reds’ defensive line’s discipline throughout normal time.

Andy Robertson -7
The Scot returned to the final after a midweek rest, and his energy levels were refilled with a vibrant performance until it proved too much in extra time.
Jordan Henderson -8
Was willing to play balls over the top and exploit the space behind Chelsea via Mane and Diaz, while also providing a disciplined line behind them.
Thiago – 8
Whether he’s gazing at his target or not, the man exudes authority on and off the field. As part of a midfield three that made their debut together, Thiago shine.
Naby Keita -8
Frequently the furthest forward midfielder, keen to get involved in both aspects of the game, with his pressing a standout characteristic.
Mohamed Salah -7
The No. 11’s battle came to an end far too quickly.
After a slow start in comparison to his teammates, Salah appeared to have an upper thigh or groin ailment before the half-hour mark. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.
Luis Diaz -9
Talk about posing a threat to the opposition. Diaz was the Reds’ most dangerous threat, and his great positioning allows his teammates to play balls into his path instinctively.
On several occasions, it appeared as if he was going to score, but the post was an inch away.
Sadio Mane -8
Mane, who had scored eight goals in his previous 11 games, had a quieter showing at Wembley as he resumed his center role.
SUBSTITUTES
Diogo Jota -7 (on for Salah, 33′)
Jota, who arrived earlier than planned, was involved in a lot of things and had several chances to score, but he lacked the final clinical touch.
James Milner – 8 (on for Keita, 73′)
As expected, plunged himself into the fray and provided another voice from a leader in the middle of the pitch, as well as another penalty.
Joel Matip -8 (91′ sub for Van Dijk)
It was difficult for Matip to walk into a high-pressure position at the start of extra time, but he handled it well.
Roberto Firmino -7 (on for Diaz in 98′)
It was his first appearance since the FA Cup semi-final in mid-April, and it showed with a few rusty touches, but he converted the penalty.
Kostas Tsimikas -9 (on for Robertson, 111′).
THE HERO. That penalty will stay with the Greek Scouser for a long time, and it should.
