Manchester United overcame top Premier league rival Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford to officially usher in a new era under Erik Ten Hag.
The Red Devils looked changed as they outfought and out-thought their arch-rivals to gain their first victory under the Dutchman after losing to Brentford and Brighton in their first two games of the new season.
Liverpool had previously won 5-0 at this venue on their way to narrowly missing winning the quadruple trophy last season, but they fell far short of those expectations this time around.
JJadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford scored goals in either half to give the revitalized home team a lead they would not give up, even after Mohamed Salah’s late goal with a header set up a thrilling climax.
And this has left Jurgen Klopp looking for explanations for his team’s terrible start, which has resulted in two draws and a loss.
