Wolves held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw in a tense match at Anfield; if the Reds are to continue the defence of the FA Cup, they must advance through a replay.
Goalkeeper Alisson horrible error gave Goncalo Guedes the game’s first goal by picking him out in the Kop-end area, proving once again that the Reds were masters of their own downfall.
But Liverpool fought back to take the lead with Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah getting on the scoresheet courtesy of well-taken goals on either side of half-time.
They were also fortunate not to give up the game’s winning goal since a questionable offside call resulted in a Toti goal at the very last minute being disallowed.
With a spot in the fourth round on the line, the two teams must now replay, with Wolves believing they have an advantage at home against a Liverpool team they outclassed for significant stretches at Anfield.
