Pundit reveals how Aleksandar Mitrovic “destroyed” Liverpool defender that had “come for an easy life”
Liverpool knew it wouldn’t be easy to play newly promoted Fulham on the opening day of the Premier League season, but the performance and outcome still surprised many.
Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, created a lot of trouble for one player in Klopp’s defence, according to Garth Crooks in an article for BBC Sport.
The 64-year-old wrote: “Mitrovic, a player I thought was done playing Premier League football two years ago, was putting himself about like Didier Drogba – much to the dismay of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

It may seem harsh to suggest that our defence expected an easy day at work, but Jurgen Klopp, later on, seems to indicate that he was not at all pleased with the performance of the entire squad.
Although this only involves one instant, it does seem a little harsh to say Trent Alexander-Arnold was “destroyed” by the Serbian.
When a 6′ 2″ forward sprinted in to win the header, there may have been more initiative taken by our No. 66 in terms of defensive positioning and ball-winning attempts, but there could only be one victor.
The fact that Liverpool came away from Craven Cottage with a point should give the team the boost they need going into a long and difficult season ahead of their opening home game against Crystal Palace.
