Real Madrid cruised to a 6-0 victory on Thursday night at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu against Levante, with the result relegating the Valencia-based club.

In a clash between top against bottom in LaLiga Santander, the gulf in class was evident throughout, and was reflected as such in the scoreline.

The hosts took the lead just nine minutes into the game, through an unlikely source, as Ferland Mendy burst forward to slot the ball home.

Karim Benzema, back in the side after being rested against Atletico Madrid, was back amongst the goals, getting on the end of a Vinicius cross at the back post.

Luka Modric and Rodrygo collaborated before the teenager tapped in from close range.

On the stroke of half-time, Modric provided another assist, this time to Vinicius, who tucked home from a tight angle.

Vinicius scored twice more in the second half to complete his hat-trick, which was his first for Real Madrid. He had Benzema to thank on 67 minutes when the Frenchman danced around the goalkeeper before passing to him practically on the goal-line for a tap-in.
