Arnaut Danjuma’s early goal secured Villarreal a deserved 1-0 win against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

Danjuma gave the yellow submarine an advantage going into the return leg by scoring the only goal early in the first half at Estadio de la Ceramica.

The German Champions were disappointing on the night, failing to register a single shot on goal at the half-hour mark.

Unai Emery’s side thought they have taken a 2-0 lead after Francis Coquelin’s cross was deflected into the visitor’s net, but a VAR check saw the gaol cancelled.

Bayer Munich will hope to turn things around when they host Villarreal in the return leg of this encounter next week.
