Should a move for Zirzkee not materialise, Calvert-Lewin is seen as an alternative.

Everton are looking to sell the 27-year-old to help balance the books. He currently earns £100,000 gross per week.

The Toon are in talks over a deal but have been put off by Everton’s £40m valuation.

Calvert-Lewin scored eight goals in 38 games in all competitions last season.
