Ian Wright laughs off Liverpool quadruple title claim after FA Cup victory
Arsenal Legend Ian Wright has made it clear that Liverpool’s hopes of winning the quadruple this season is just a ‘pipe dream’,
The football pundit added that’s the ‘last thing’ Liverpool will be thinking about after they reached the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Liverpool battled City in the Premier League with Pep Guardiola and his players, in a 2-2 draw a week ago, but were 3-0 too good inside the first half at Wembley, where Liverpool came out superior at the end.
Speaking to Premier League production after Liverpool’s FA Cup win and those talks of winning the lot this season, wright said “The quadruple is a pipe dream,”
“Until you get to the next stage of what you might be able to do to knock another trophy off.
“It’s the last thing Liverpool will be thinking of because it’s too much pressure. You need so many things to go for you to win the treble, let alone the quadruple. I just think they will be looking to the next game. They will just knock it off.
“We can talk about it, but Liverpool is just going about their business. They are an amazing football team.”
No team in England football history has achieved this great feat, they will be the first team to do so.
The Reds already have the League Cup in the bag and either Chelsea or Crystal Palace await them in the FA Cup final.
With Man City still leading in the Premier League, whilst in the Champions League, the Reds would have to seriously kick themselves in the foot not to beat Villarreal in the semi-final.
