It was amazing that Barcelona hadn’t taken the lead after the opening 45 minutes as Robert Lewandowski and company feasted on the Bayern back line on his return to the Allianz Arena.
After three consecutive Bundesliga draws, Bayern looked once again off the pace as the Blaugrana pounded the hosts. For Barcelona, the finished product was the only item still lacking, and it appeared that things would finally go their way.
After the break, a different Bayern team that was unrecognizably different from the one that had left the Allianz Arena field at halftime emerged from the tunnel.
Before the hour mark, the hosts took the lead on goals from Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane that were scored four minutes apart. Barcelona was then defeated once more by the German opposition, who are now Catalonia’s No. 1 Public Enemy.
Bayern Munich defeated Barcelona once more, a common outcome in European competition as the Germans continue to dominate their Spanish rivals.
