Famous Journalist shares interesting transfer update as Liverpool target makes final decision

Brighton midfielder, Moises Caicedo has reportedly signed a new contract with the Seagulls that would keep him on the south coast through the summer of 2027, dealing Liverpool a significant setback in their pursuit of the Ecuadorian.

The 21-year-old, who had previously been linked to the Reds, declared his intention to leave Brighton in January after receiving bids from both Arsenal and Chelsea.

As a result, the news that the midfielder will be leaving the Amex after this season comes as a huge shock. Fabrizio Romano made the announcement on Twitter.

“Official: Moises Caicedo has signed new deal with Brighton valid until June 2027 with an option for further season,” the Italian wrote. “It will include a significant pay rise to Caicedo. Brighton have turned down £55m from Chelsea and £70m from Arsenal last January.”

There is no doubt that Jürgen Klopp wants to improve his options in the centre of the pitch this summer, and while Jude Bellingham is said to be the Reds’ top priority, the Brighton No. 25 will undoubtedly have been taken into consideration by the Merseysiders.

After signing a new contract, players are no longer off the market; instead, it only means that teams interested in purchasing them will need to make a significantly larger offer.

At the conclusion of the season, one wouldn’t necessarily rule out Caicedo leaving the Seagulls, but we think Liverpool will be concentrating on other potential signings.
