Osimhen transfer news: Super Eagles and Lille Forward Victor Osimhen earlier this month rejected an offer to join Serie A giants Napoli.

Serie A club, Napoli have been linked with a move for Lille OSC forward Victor Osimhen but he expectedly rejected the offer.

According to Omasport.com the Super Eagles forward has chosen not to accept the offer citing racism and not wanting a repeat of what he faced at VFL Wolfsburg.

The 21-year-old faced many challenges during his days in Germany, battling with injuries, loneliness and this resulted in him deleting some of his Instagram pictures.

Osimhen also struggled to make the first team of Wolfsburg, with only 12 appearances in his over 1-year stay and this affected him emotionally.

He moved on to Belgium having summer trials at Zulte Waregem and Club Brugge, but due to ill health, neither of the clubs accepted the youngster.

A return to Wolfsburg was the only alternative for him, but before he could settle down. He was offered another opportunity to go back to Belgium to prove himself.

Osimhen was reluctant due to the bad experience he had in his first travel to the European nation. This time he decided to join Royal Sporting Charleroi after being persuaded by his agent.

He went on to make a great impression, netting 20 goals in 36 games, and building himself a cult hero status at the club. Today, he is held in awe in Charleroi.

His blistering form continued as he made a move to the league one by joining Lille OSC and in just his first season the Nigerian International finished as top scorer for the League 1 club with 18 goals and 6 assists in all competitions.

This earned him the prize for the Lille player of the season and a place in the League 1 team of the season alongside Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe.

Many top elite European clubs have been linked with a move for the striker, with Napoli taking the lead, but he has chosen not to join the Italian giants.

But instead decided to wait for a move to a better place where he will not experience racism. There are reports of close family friends trying to convince him to make the move to the city of Naples.

It remains to be seen if Victor Osimhen will have a change of mind and move to Italy, time will tell. Let’s hope he makes the best decision.
