Atlético de Madrid manager Diego Simeone described forward Luis Suárez as an “extraordinary player” after the Uruguayan international scored a brace in his team’s 2-1 victory over Eibar in La Liga on Thursday.
Simeone said that Suárez was active in Atlético against Eibar in Municipal de Ipurua.
Suárez’s two goals in the second half gave Atlético de Madrid the three points against Eibar, as Marko Dmitrovic’s penalty in the first half was not enough to give the host a point.
The victory against Eibar means that Atlético de Madrid is at the top of the La Liga table with 44 points from 17 games.

Speaking about Suárez after the game, Simeone said after the game: “He is an extraordinary player and we are very happy to have him with us.
“He was active at all times.
He “he found the goal after a loss of the ball and then for the penalty he generated it, did it, looked for it and finished it with decision”.
