What Frank Lampard said after he was sacked by Chelsea

Frank Lampard has expressed disappointment at not having had more time to improve Chelsea’s fortunes after he was sacked on Monday.

 

In a statement issued by the League Managers Association, Lampard admitted his disappointment at not having had more time at the club.

“It has been a great privilege and an honor to lead Chelsea, a club that has been a big part of my life for so long,” said Lampard.

 

“First of all, I would like to thank the fans for the incredible support I have received over the past 18 months. I hope you know what that means to me.

 

“When I assumed this position, I understood the challenges that lay ahead at a difficult time for the football club.

 

“I am proud of the achievements we have made, and I am proud of the academy players who have made the first team and performed so well. They are the future of the club.

“I am disappointed that I did not have time this season to take the club forward and take it to the next level

“I want to thank Mr. Abramovich, the board, the players, my technical team and everyone at the club for their hard work and dedication, especially in these challenging and unprecedented times.

 

“I wish the team and the club every success in the future.”

Former Dortmund and PSG coach Thomas Tuchel has been hinted as a possible replacement for lampard.
