Lingard is set join West Ham on loan for the remainder of the season in a £1.5m deal.

The 28-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils in the Premier League this season, but has managed just three appearances this season all in the league Cup.

“It is likely that Jesse’s loan deal with West Ham will come about,” said Solskjaer.

“We want Jesse to come back revitalized and show at West Ham how good he is as a player.

“He was only unhappy with a few issues. In some periods of time, he had to stay away from us with COVID-19 isolation and close contact.”
