“We are going to fight till the end,” says Zinedine Zidane after 1-1 vs Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has promised that his team will not give up but will “fight to the end” in the title race.

Los Blancos were able to snatch a point from city rivals and league leaders Atlético Madrid in their clash on Sunday to keep their title hope alive.

Karim Benzema scored at the end of the second half to cancel Luis Suárez’s first game at the Wanda Metropolitano with so many wasted opportunities by the locals.

The result leaves Zidane’s men within five points, with one more game under their belt.

And their French boss, after the match, declared that the reigning champions will contest their crown until the end of the season.

“The objective is this, to continue,” he said when asked if his side still has a title shot.

“We know there is a lot left [but] we are going to fight until the end.

“Everything can always change. We are doing things well, we can improve. It is what we are going to do.

“I am very proud of all my players. We are in the same boat and we are going to fight to the end.”

His words have been echoed by by striker Karim Benzema who also declared that the” league title is far from over”

“I’m happy with the result, we’ve still got a lot to play for.

” This result means that the league is far from over and we can keep our eye on the title”.

Real Madrid’s next game is against Elche on Saturday 13, March as they look to close the gap between them and league leaders Atletico Madrid.
