Victor Osimhen and Lille OSC missed out on a spot in the UEFA Champions League after Paris Saint Germain were crowned League1 champions.
The ligue de Football professionnel (LFP) announced Paris Saint Germain as the champion of the French league 1 2019/ 20 season, following a press release from the French prime minister, on the suspension of sports activities till September.
Ligue 1 final standing were based on an average of points earned per match played. Lille could only manage a fourth place with 1.75 points after 28 rounds of matches.
However, it was not enough to earn Osimhen and his Lille teammate a spot in the champions league.
The Super Eagles striker could make his debut in the Europa League next season with Lille OSC, if he decides to stay with the Les Dogues.
The 21-year-Old has been in a fantastic form scoring 13 goals with 5 assists in 27 league appearances for the League 1 side, before the suspension of the French league.
Osimhen also missed out on the top scorer chat after finishing a disappointing fifth position.
