VAR may be banned when football resumes amid the COVID-19

Europe football governing bodies are considering the ban of VAR, that it usage may disregard the social distancing guidelines amid the COVID-19.

Many leagues across Europe are planning a come back after the interruption of football activities, playing behind closed doors and having fewer number of personnel are among the many strategies they hope to use in surviving the crisis.

Sport,leagues are grasping with the idea of whether to use VAR when the football does return, according to French Publication RMC.

The use of VAR may be seen as unnecessary risk, as officials will have to gather around the screen closely before decisions are made, this is against the social distancing rule.

There have been suggestions of a plexiglass screen mounted between officials, but this has been termed needless.

UEFA plans Concluding the Champions League and Europa cup 2019/20 season by the end of August.
