Arsenal transfer news: Arsenal has agreed to sign Martin Odegaard on a Real Madrid loan, according to El Confidencial.

The 22-year-old wants to leave Santiago Bernabeus to get more playing time.

Odegaard  is believed to be unhappy with the lack of minutes led by Zinedine Zidane this season and has asked to leave before the transfer window ends.

The Norwegian favored a return to the LaLiga team at Real Sociedad, where he spent last season on loan.

However, Real Sociedad has now lost to Arsenal in the race to sign Odegaard.

Odegaard will join the Gunners team on loan for the remainder of the term without the purchase option included in the agreement.

Sociedad wanted to sign Odegaard a second time, but had demanded a purchase clause as part of the loan agreement.

But, Real Madrid are fine with Odegaard’s departure, the Spanish champions want to keep control of the midfielder in the future and don’t want him to leave permanently.

Arsenal already have strong relationships with Madrid due to their loan agreement with Dani Ceballos, who is on loan with the Gunners for a second term.
