Harry Kane transfer news: Tottenham are ready to listen to offers for Harry Kane, provided prospects Manchester United and Manchester City land a record UK transfer price of £150m.h
The 27-year-old is in the middle of a six-year deal with his youth club but has yet to win silver with the north London club and Kane will reconsider his options this summer if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Kane has already scored 21 goals this season and Jose Mourinho is keen to keep the English skipper as he is paramount to the Portuguese plans to make the club title challengers.
The club had already accepted financial hardship given the £1 billion bill for their new stadium, but the absence of fans from the stadiums has exacerbated the club’s need to balance the books.
The opportunity to benefit from Kane would represent around 15% of the club’s stadium and the Daily Mail claims Spurs will hear offers of around £ 150m for the English striker.
Both Manchester City and Manchester United have long been admirers of the striker. Both clubs will invest heavily in a center forward this summer.
City wants a replacement for Sergio Aguero, who is expected to leave at the end of the season. While United signed a short-term deal with Edinson Cavani last summer are set to sign a future striker in 2021.
Should either club meet Spurs’ price tag, Kane would be the third most expensive player of all time after Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
The England captain earns around £200,000-a-week at Tottenham and both Manchester clubs could easily increase this to £300,000.
However, Spurs’ price tag could prove to be a far bigger stumbling block if clubs hold onto their pennies and are unable to plan for the future as they could have in years past.
