Predicted Chelsea XI vs Atletico Madrid, Team news, injury news, Prediction, UEFA Champions League 2021.

Chelsea will face Atlético Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League on Tuesday.  The tie is very well balanced as the Blues will take a 1-0 lead going into the second leg.

Chelsea will be without Thiago Silva and Tammy Abraham again in their decisive Champions League tie.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel has said he does not want to risk the duo returning from injury before the next international break.

That  means Silva and Abraham will miss Wednesday’s second leg against Atlético and will  also be without the suspended Mason Mount and Jorginho.

Tuchel said: “Two key players for us, especially Mason for his offensive skills and his power offensive wise to break the lines with dribbles and shots, but it is a small line between argumentation and excuse.

“They were important players so far. We have a group with which we compete.

“Now is the challenge to adapt and find solutions. We play without the two guys and also Tammy Abraham and Thiago Silva. We miss four players. That makes the selection easy as we can choose 23 players. We can use the whole squad and make five subs.

Edouard Mendy should keep his place in goal, and he’s likely to have a busy night as Atlético de Madrid have to score to get an away goal.

Tuchel is probably going to go with three centers once more. James will play as a right back in the bottom five, while Chilwell will play as a left back.  Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen should be behind in the three-man defense.

In the absence of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante will be paired with Mateo Kovacic in the center of the Chelsea line-up. Both are in excellent shape and will have to give their best against a hard-working Atlético de Madrid midfield.

We expect Callum Hudson-Odoi to start on the right wing and Timo Werner to start on the left side of the Chelsea lineup.
Tuchel has been impressed with Kai Havertz’s performances lately, and he could start attacking.  Olivier Giroud could be a good option from the bench.
