
Chelsea forward Timo Werner has been ruled out of the Germany Friendly match against Turkey.
Germany’s assistant coach Marcus Sorg has revealed that Chelsea striker Timo Werner will not play a part in today’s match against Turkey after developing symptoms of the Covid-19.
The 24-year-old has undergone the coronavirus tests, but Germany and Chelsea will be eager to know the outcome of the test.
“Timo Werner has a slight cold and won’t join up with the team today,” Sorg said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Several tests have been done, but the results are not in yet.”
German male national team is set to face Switzerland and Ukraine in the Nations League after tonight’s match.
Werner could feature in the other two games only if, he recovers which is also dependent on the outcome of his Covid-19 test.
The Chelsea summer signing has 31 caps for the German senior national team scoring 12 times.
