Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has sent message to striker Tammy Abraham, who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in this summer.

The England international has been linked with a possible move back to Premier League side Aston Villa.

Abraham’s future at Chelsea is uncertain after falling into the pecking order of the strikers on Tuchel’s team.

The 23-year-old made 16 Premier League appearances with former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard this season, but has only made 4 since Tuchel took over at Stamford Bridge.

He is currently behind Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Olivier Giroud in Tuchel’s forward pick in recent weeks.

Reacting to the development, Tuchel urged Abraham not to worry about getting into Chelsea’s first team, adding that he must first be fit and do it step by step through good training.

“Of course, he [Tammy] needs to be fit, that’s correct. Then to take it to step by step, through good training performances and to fight his way back. The way back is maybe for him to be a substitute and be hungry and full of quality training.

“These are the next steps, but now is not the moment to worry about the first XI, as he has been out for many games, unfortunately too many games,” Tuchel said as quoted by Birmingham Live.

Abraham spent the 2018/2019 season at Aston Villa on loan and motivated them into the English Premier League with his scoring exploits.
