Thomas Tuchel hints at Chelsea new objectives after signing new deal

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel signed a new deal with the blues on Friday, that will keep him at the club till 2024.

Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in January and propelled the Blues to a top four finish, an FA Cup final, and won the Champions League in just four months at the club.

The news of a new contract suggests that there was already an agreement in place for a two-year extension that would have been triggered if objectives were met. maybe winning the champions league was one of the them.

Throughout his stay in the capital thus far, Tuchel has been asked what his goals were. The closet until the end of the season arrived, the most obvious thing was to reach the top four, although the head of the Blues never explicitly said what exactly they were, opting for the cliché “one game at a time and see where we end up” Approaching.

Speaking on his new contract, Tuchel said: “There is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation.”

“We have to accept there is a gap between us and Manchester City. If you look at the fixtures in the last few years we have to accept it, without making us feel too small. From day one next season we will hunt them,” Tuchel said in April.

This means ending City’s domestic dominance is the Blues head coach’s next goal. He will need a couple of players in the transfer window to compete with the best team in the division, possibly in Europe, and all indications are that he will be backed.
