Arsenal targets Thomas Partey told to Snub a move to Arsenal by Ghana boss Charles Akonnor.
Thomas Partey has been urged to Ignore moving to Premier League club Arsenal by Ghanaian national team coach Charles Akonnor according to Daily Mirror.
Partey, 27, is the gunner’s primary target in the transfer market as they look to beef up the middle of the park ahead of next season.
Mikel Arteta began the rebuilding of his team after completing the signing of Willian from Chelsea and hopes to continue by luring the Ghanian midfielder to the Emirates Stadium.
However, Ghana national team coach Charles Akonnor has advised that he remains in Spain to partake in the champions league football.
“Honestly, I wouldn’t want him to move to Arsenal because, with Atletico, he will always play Champions League football. His position is guaranteed, and he will always play, he said.
“With Arsenal, I’m not too sure. Arsenal fans will kill me [for saying he should not join them]. I hope that, and I’m sure money issues will come in, but I hope that whatever he asks for, Atletico will be able to pay.”
Arteta has reportedly made Porto’s Danilo Pereira as an alternative if unable to sign Partey.
