Chelsea center-back Thiago Silva has taken a final decision on his future at Stamford Bridge.
Silva is eager to stay at Chelsea for one more season, according to the UK Telegraph.
The 36-year-old joined the Blues as a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
Silva has become one of Chelsea’s most consistent players this season.
The Brazilian defender signed a one-year contract last August with the option to extend it for another 12 months.
Silva is understood to want to activate that option and Chelsea is expected to keep the experienced defender for another season.
The report claims Silva has established himself as a “popular figure” within the local dressing room and has had a great influence on the younger players in the squad.
He is currently out with a thigh injury but aims to return for the Premier League clash against Southampton on February 20.
