Spanish top two divisions have been given the green light to return to action.

Spanish La Liga has been granted permission to resume according to Spain Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez while following health protocols reports Sky.


League games in Spain top two divisions was suspended on March 23rd amid the coronavirus pandemic.

No specific date has been fixed for return, but La Liga President Javier Tebas is hopeful it will resume on June 12.

Reacting to the news on Twitter, Tebas said: “We are very happy for the decision, it is the result of the great work of clubs, players, technicians, CSD (National Sports Council) and agents involved.

“But we cannot lower our guard, it is important to follow health regulations and ensure the pandemic doesn’t come back.”

La Liga clubs were permitted to resume small group training having commenced individual training earlier in the month.

The Spanish government have begun to relax lockdown with no new cases or Death recorded in the last 24 hours as at 23rd of May 2020.
