Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Paul Pogba will return in March at the earliest. Ed Edinson Cavani and Donny van de Beek will also miss Manchester United’s Europa League clash against Real Sociedad on Thursday.

Pogba has not played since they drew 3-3 against Everton on February 6 with a hamstring injury.  He missed the FA Cup fifth-round win against West Ham last week and Sunday’s draw against West Brom.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Solskjaer said the France international was still a few weeks away from returning and ruled him out from upcoming games against Real Sociedad, Newcastle United, and Chelsea towards the end of the month.

“Paul is recovering well,” the United head coach told reporters.

“He’s starting the treatment but it will still be a few weeks. He won’t be playing in February, that’s for sure, it’s still a few weeks before we see Paul definitely.

“We won’t see him in February, that’s for sure.”

The Red Devils will travel to Turin for their first leg against Real Sociedad on Thursday but Cavani and van de Beek will not be part of that group.

Commenting on United’s injury concerns on Thursday, Solskjaer said: “That being said, we have some doubts.  Anthony [Martial] and Scott [McTominay].

“So we will have to check them tomorrow. Donny and Edinson definitely traveling.”
