Manchester United are reportedly targeting Tyrone Mings, adding him on their shortlist ahead of a possible summer offer for the Aston Villa central defender.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a new central defender, with Real Madrid duo Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, plus Sevilla ace Jules Kounde, all on his radar.
But ESPN claims that Englishman Mings is now in the rush to move to Old Trafford.
Mings spent the second half of the 2018-19 season on loan at Bournemouth Villa. Finally, he made the permanent move in the summer of 2019 for around £20 million.
After a 2019-2020 test campaign for Dean Smith’s men, Villa has spotted a different outfit this time.
On defense, they have only conceded 24 goals in their 21 games to date, with Mings and Ezri Konsa being outstanding.
Mings has also appeared with two goals and one assist in his 20 league appearances so far this season.
The defender has emerged as a key component of a rapidly improving Villa side this season and is an established member of Gareth Southgate’s senior England squad.
The only sticking point could be the fee, as Villa is likely to demand at least double the 20 million pounds they spent for the Englishman.
