Manchester United have confirmed winger Facundo Pellistri has left Old Trafford on loan to Spanish club Alaves for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
Man United made the announcement in a statement on their website on Sunday ahead of the Premier League’s clash with Southampton on Tuesday.
A club statement read in part: “We wish Facundo all the best for his stay with Alaves in Spain and look forward to following his progress.”
Pellistri, 19, signed a five-year deal with Man United in the summer of 2020.
He has made a number of impressive appearances for Man United’s U23 squad in recent months.
Responding to the news , Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Man United’s official website: “Our scouts have been following Facundo for a long time and we believe he will be a real talent over the long term.
“While we understand that it will take some time for him to get used to the English game, he can have an impact on his pace and his ability to beat his opponent.”
