Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez is reportedly on his way out of Atletico Madrid has sent a message to Chelsea.
Atlético Madrid midfielder Saúl Niguez has given a brilliant response to rumors that he could leave the Spanish club amid ties to Chelsea.
The Spaniard has been rumored to be a target for Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea for the past few months, and current Atleti employers are keen to let him go.
That certainly seemed to be the case with Diego Simeone choosing to sign Udinese star Rodrigo De Paul last week, leaving his midfield options at Wanda Metropolitano full.
More rumors began circulating last week that Saúl could also be used in a trade deal with Barcelona that would see the midfielder make the switch to Camp Nou, while Antoine Griezmann would go the other way and return to Atlético Madrid.
Saúl has given his answer to the constant conversations about his future in images captured by the Spanish medium Marca.
Surrounded by supporters who begged him to stay, the 19-time Spanish international responded jokingly: “They’re kicking me out of here.”
Of course, Saul’s statement could certainly be him attempting to have his own fun with the rumours but it will certainly pique the interest of a few in west London.
The 26-year-old has been a constant star for Atleti since his great season in 2014. He has made 337 appearances for the La Liga giants, scoring 43 goals in all competitions.
He still has five years left to run on his bumper contract at the Wanda Metropolitano.
