Every 21st of the month of March Ronaldinho marks his birthday, but this year he will be celebrating it behind bars.
The former Barcelona star was arrested in Paraguay for possessing a fake passport and he is currently cooling off in custody where he will be marking his 40th birthday.
At the peak of his career, the Brazilian was known to play the “Samba ” type of football. He was signed by Paris saints Germain in 1998 from Gremio at the age of 21.
He played the bulk of his career at European clubs Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and A.C. Milan.
The two time FIFA World Player of the Year winner and a Ballon door, was renowned for his technical skills and creativity; due to his agility, pace and dribbling ability, as well as his use of tricks, feints, overhead kicks, no-look passes and accuracy from free-kicks.
The 40-year-old won the world cup with the Brazilian National Team at the Korea/Japan 2002 World cup.
At the twilight of his career, Ronaldinho Gaucho returned to Brazil to play for Flamengo in 2011 and Atlético Mineiro a year later where he won the Copa Libertadores, before moving to Mexico to play for Querétaro and then back to Brazil to play for Fluminense in 2015.
